## The scores: What the week was worth

- Average Gameweek score: 47.8
- Median score: 47.0
- Highest score: 85
- Lowest score: 20

65 points separated the best and worst weeks in the sample. Same fixtures, same deadline, very different hobbies.

## The table: Who moved, and who merely talked about it

- Leagues with a new leader: 5 of 23
- Weekly top scorer already led the league: 1 of 23
- Biggest climb: 20 places
- Biggest fall: 16 places

Somewhere, a manager dropped 16 places in a single Gameweek and is now calling it a long-term project.

## The gaps: How close it is at the top

- Median lead at the top: 9.0 points
- Leagues led by 10 points or fewer: 13 of 23
- Average top-to-bottom gap in a league: 35.8 points
- Widest top-to-bottom gap: 53 points

A ten-point lead is one captain decision. Nobody at the top is relaxed, whatever they say in the group chat.

## Week on week: Transfer hits and form swings

- Managers with consecutive editions: 226 in 17 leagues
- Took a transfer hit: 14 of 226 (6%)
- Points spent on hits: 60
- Hit-takers’ average before deductions: 45.6
- Hit-takers’ average after deductions: 41.3
- Everyone else’s average: 47.9
- Biggest week-on-week rise: 36 points
- Biggest week-on-week drop: 70 points

After paying for their transfers, hit-takers averaged 41.3 against 47.9 for everyone else. Patience remains annoyingly effective.

## Methodology

- Sample: This is a sample of public classic leagues that use Fantasy Pundit, not all FPL managers. 27 published league editions were considered; 23 leagues and 399 distinct managers are included. A manager in more than one sampled league counts once.
- Exclusions: 4 editions came from leagues with fewer than 4 managers.
- Gameweek score: Official FPL Gameweek points as shown in the league table, before transfer deductions.
- New leader: The manager or managers ranked first after the Gameweek differ from those ranked first before it.
- Lead and gaps: Lead at the top is the gap in total points between first and second. A league’s top-to-bottom gap is its highest minus its lowest Gameweek score.
- Transfer hits: Derived from consecutive published editions of the same league: previous total plus this Gameweek’s points minus the new total. Values that are not a multiple of four are excluded. Reported only with at least 5 leagues and 50 managers.
- Thresholds: Issues are published only with at least 10 leagues and 100 managers.
- Data source: The official Fantasy Premier League API (public classic-league standings), as captured in each league’s published Fantasy Pundit edition. No AI model produced any figure.
- Privacy: No league, manager or team names or IDs are published, and nothing here identifies a single league.
- Frozen: Sample closed and figures frozen on 7 November 2026. Published issues are never recalculated. Methodology hindsight-v1.
